Thrifty Thursday - Chocolate Easter Candy + 1 more

1) If you've been wanting to learn how to reshape chocolate in a mold, now is the time. The Easter candy is on deep-discount at Dollar General, WalMart, KMart, and many of the big department stores and grocery stores. The little chocolate crosses didn't go over too big this year, and WalMart had them going for 30 cents a piece. The Easter decorations have also been discounted.

2) The second tip is for those of you who own livestock. If you do not live in a rural area and have access to a fully stocked feed store, then one of your animals develops a problem with their health, don't think they'll have what you need when the emergency occurs. One of three things could result in this: 1) You'll need to drive a very long distance to buy it; 2) You'll have to pay their exorbitant prices; or, 3) You'll end up having to wait a few days for a delivery from the livestock supply warehouse, which risks more complications in the animal. Shop around online, buy the meds now and keep them on hand. You'll save yourself a lot of money and worry in the long run.

(It ended up that our mama goat wasn't sick after-all, but the it really had me in a panic for a time. I was able to find the Mastitis test kit and meds from a friend in the next county, but I would have spent less time and money on the diagnosis if I had some of this stuff on hand. A lesson learned.)
