How to Brush a Dog's Teeth

This sounds like a silly subject, but did you know you are supposed to brush a dog's teeth? I was looking through a magazine in a doctor's office, and there was an ad for dog's toothpaste. Apparently dogs have many oral problems, especially decay and gum disease. My family had a dog while I was young, and my parents never thought about brushing its teeth.
