The Garden Girl talks to the creator of Square Foot Gardening. He discusses where you can locate free wood for your raised beds, the type of wood you should and shouldn't use, and some other tips.

The concept of gardening within each square foot is called intensive gardening. It is viewed as a good way to garden, because it reduces the amount of water you need, it uses less space, and it is less work to maintain. It is a better thought-out method, opposed to the waste that takes place when you plant your vegetables in a line. If you recall, the Indians just spread their seed out without any uniformity.
