Finally, someone willing to tell it all. Mark Gungor, a pastor from Wisconsin, explains to his seminar participants how the male and female brain works. I saw myself in several of his examples, and my husband was represented in his stories of the compartmentalized mind. He provides a refreshing view on how couples relate, and the sin that separates them.

I recently became familiar with Mark's ministry to single and married couples over Facebook. I viewed one of his videos in the early morning hours and laughed loudly. I'm not one to sit and watch a comedian, but this one is worth your time. Laughter with truth - what a wonderful blend.

If you've ever noticed how well your flowers grow in a garden enriched with wood mulch, others have already turned it into a science. Back to Eden filmmakers profiled Paul Gautschi, a Christian, who grows vegetables and fruits in
Washington state using wood chip mulch. He explains how wood chip mulch increases the oxygen supply in the soil,
holds needed moisture, which in turn attracts microbes and earthworms to produce his lush organic garden. He claims that this method of gardening needs little water and is a low maintenance way to garden. Has this spiked your interest?

As you watch the film, you learn that you can't just mix fresh sawdust or wood chip material directly into your soil, because it will deplete the soil's nitrogen and delay the growth in your garden plot. Paul recommends that you either use it as a ground cover, or begin by using his method of sheet mulching that prepares the soil for a new garden bed. You will notice that this isn't bagged mulch, but the type you get from a wood chipper.

Sawdust and raw wood are a great mulch for perennial crops, as long as
you scatter a bit of organic fertilizer, poultry manure, or other
nitrogen source over the surface each time you throw on a fresh layer of sawdust.[1] Paul recommends the use of bloodmeal and other composted animal manure fertilizers (that don't contain weed seeds) when adding ingredients to a garden bed. The wood chips alone are not the magic bullet that will make this garden grow. You do need to supplement the soil with natural fertilizers at first, then after time it won't need to be done as often.[2]

As a side note, in a YouTube video, Paul mentions a visitor to his farm who had spent hours learning permaculture gardening. The visitor became emotional when he realized that permaculture is a flawed way to garden, and that Paul's method was far superior.

An illustration showing the layers of permaculture gardening

Although I felt at first viewing that this method works hand-in-hand with permaculture, there are some things that are different. The New Age side of permaculture, and the fact that communitarians embrace this method, are definitely flawed. More study would have to be done to find which parts have problems. I have always suspected that permaculture's methods lacked the ability to control disease and pests, but I don't have any proof. Remember that there is often some truth mixed with blatant lies.

I highly suggest that you closely read Paul's directions and watch any additional videos you can find on YouTube if you decide to give it a try. The Back to Eden method is interesting. You can watch the documentary film here or on Vimeo.
Raising seven children has not made it easy to maintain a matched set of flatware. I recently noticed that my spoons have dwindled down in number, so I checked out our local thrift shop for some new additions. Although they aren't as charming as a silver vintage collection, I still think I hit the jackpot.

Didn't you know that matching stainless steel flatware is way overrated? Each of these spoons carries a history and is special in a different way.

Even if you prefer to have a matched set, there is still a place in everyone's flatware drawer for a "one of a kind." Perhaps you can use them instead of plasticware, or for eating drinking your morning coffee, or for eating dessert. When it comes down to it, you have to admit that some of the older flatware are downright simple and beautiful.

Preacher's Cake is a favorite found in many church cookbooks. I had never heard about such a thing until last week, and had a chance to taste one today. What a delicious treat! You may not want to put an effort into a cake like this for everyday, but it makes a good contribution to a fellowship meal or family gathering. The directions and ingredient list are simple. This is how it's made.

Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1-20 oz. can crushed pineapple, undrained
1/2 cup chopped nuts
(optional)

Directions
Mix dry ingredients together first, then add wet ingredients. Beat by hand. Bake in a greased and floured 9x13 inch pan at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes. Cool, then frost.

Frosting
1 pkg 8 ounce cream cheese, softened
1 3/4 cup powdered (confectioners) sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla

Use electric beater and whip until smooth and creamy. Spread all of the frosting onto cooled cake, making sure it's spread evenly over entire cake. Sprinkle the top with chopped walnuts if desired, but it isn't needed.

Curry powder is a blend of many spices, and comes in different varieties. Each curry powder can have different component spices, in differing amounts-making each curry blend unique. I always thought that curry powder came from a curry plant, but I learned that this isn't the case. Some curry powder recipes don't even contain "curry" from the curry plant - so the telling of the spice blend isn't without twists and turns.

What is known for certain is that the blend of spices first originated in South Asia.

Since it comes from that region, the curry powder blend is actually a mixture of various spices grown in that area, including coriander, cumin, turmeric, ginger, cloves, and others. Although I don't know for certain, it is possible that each curry powder recipe could be different because of the availability of the spices in South Asia. For example, just as Chicken Adobo tastes different depending upon the region of the Philippines you visit, the spices used in the recipe is based upon what could be purchased in the market.

What follows is a curry powder recipe from Greens and Seeds, along with their photographs. It may take some experimenting to find the recipe you like. Those can be easily found by doing a Google search.

Begin cutting the breast into small morsels, placing them directly into a large pot as you cut. I use kitchen scissors and hold them with tongs.

Once they are all cut-up, combine the Cream of Chicken soup with the milk directly over the chicken morsels. Heat through until all of the lumps are gone. (Note: soy milk doesn't taste good if you are going to substitute.)

Now add the heaping Tbsp of mayo. Don't use a measuring spoon - rather use a utensil.

Sprinkle the top of your ingredients with about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of curry powder. Try using less before using more. I don't measure it, but do it by eye. 1/2 tsp may be too much.

Once it is heated through, add a little more cracked pepper and salt to taste. Serve over white rice. A side of broccoli goes well with this recipe.

Papua New Guinea became a separate Commonwealth realm with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II reigning as the Queen.

Originally from Belleville, PA, Mark Zook and his wife spent 14 years in Papua New Guinea working among the Mouk tribal people. The following video is about how they brought tribesmen from sorcery and deceit to a life-changing understanding of what Christ did for them.

New Tribes Mission, the evangelical mission agency they were accepted by, focuses on teaching through the Scriptures chronologically. They spent months teaching the Mouk about their place in the world and
the history of God’s work in the world beginning with creation. NTM missionaries typically begin with the Genesis account of creation and follow the storyline of the Bible through to the story of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the New Testament.
By this approach, cultures that have no exposure to biblical teaching, are able to gain solid grounding on foundational principles of the Old Testament before they are introduced to the New Testament Gospel.[1]

Papua New Guinea is located near Australia

The mission's focus is on groups where no translation of the Bible exists. When such a group is identified, NTM first attempts to make contact and
establish a relationship. Then, missionaries are sent to learn the
language and culture of the native people, while further developing
relationships and providing humanitarian aid.
The missionaries translate biblical literature into the indigenous
language, as well as teach natives how to read and write in their own
language.

Although the New Tribes Mission is presenting the Gospel to the lost world, they don't come without controversy. As to not detract from the video and the work done in Papua New Guinea, you can follow the link to see the examples. Unfortunately, it's not uncommon to mission agencies.

The video does move very slowly through the details, but will pick up about halfway through the first clip. If you can deal with that, you will be blessed.
Amaranth grain has a long history in Mexico and is
considered a native crop in Peru. It was a major food crop of the
Aztecs, and some have estimated amaranth was domesticated between 6,000
and 8,000 years ago. Like the Incas, the Aztecs used the grain, which is actually a seed, as part of their Pagan ceremonial worship practices.

When Cortez and his Conquistadors landed in the New World in the sixteenth
century, they immediately began attempts to
convert the Aztecs to Christianity - just as they did with the Incas. In doing this, they outlawed foods involved in “heathen” festivals and religious ceremonies, amaranth included. Severe punishment was handed to anyone found
growing or possessing amaranth.[1]

Although the Aztecs made it popular, the word actually amaranth comes from the Greek word amarantos, meaning
"unwithering". The word was applied to amaranth because it did not soon
fade, and so symbolized immortality. The current spelling of amaranth, seems to have come from folk etymology that assumed the final syllable derived from the Greek word anthos ("flower"), common in botanical names.

Although there are 60 species and often considered weeds, also known as herbs, people around the world value amaranth as a leaf vegetable, cereals, and ornamental plants. Both spinach and lambsquarters are in the same amaranthus plant family. It is related to pigweed, the enemy of many farmers. The weedy amaranth types are also edible and taste much like
the cultivated varieties. A handful of amaranthus varieties are cultivated in different parts of the world. Sometimes local farmer's markets will offer bunches of amaranth greens, but they don't keep long, so you'd have to use them quickly. It's much easier to grow amaranth and cut it as needed, [2] and this would also allow you to harvest the seed from the pods.

The most common usage for Amaranth is to grind the seed into a flour for use in breads, noodles, pancakes, cereals, granola, cookies, or other flour-based products. This gluten-free grain can be popped like popcorn or eaten like oatmeal. More than 40 products containing amaranth are currently on the market in the U.S.[3][4]

When it comes to nutrients, amaranth is rich in the amino acid lysine, calcium, iron, magnesium, calcium, and a good source of vitamins A, B6, K and C, a well as folate and riboflavin. Some studies have even found that amaranth may even help prevent gray hair. Like spinach, it contains a moderately high level of oxalic acid, which inhibits much
of the absorption of calcium and zinc. Amaranth should be consumed
in moderation by those with diseases such as gout, kidney problems or
rheumatoid arthritis. [4]

When simmered, amaranth turns into a porridge-like texture. To cook, bring 3 cups water or broth and 1 cup seeds to a boil; cover and simmer
20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. It can also be combined with other grains if you desire a more "rice-like" dish, and it can be popped in a skillet like popcorn, as mentioned before. It has a nutty flavor and crunchy texture.

Semolina is the coarse, purified wheat middlings of durum used in making pasta, breakfast cereals, puddings, and couscous. Semolina is derived from the Italian word semola, meaning 'bran', and from the ancient Latin simila, meaning 'flour'. It is called smida (pronounced "smeeda") in Moroccan
Arabic. It is the endosperm (or heart) of durum wheat kernel, which is yellow in color. Although semolina is famously used to make pasta or couscous, it
also makes a very flavorful, chewy bread.

Durum is the hardest of all wheat varieties that contains very high gluten content and high protein. Once purified, semolina contains trace minerals, such as: phosphorus, zinc and magnesium,
which are beneficial for the health of your bones and nervous system. Semolina is also known to improve kidney function, because of its potassium content.

In much of North Africa, durum semolina is made into the staple couscous - a dish of the same name. Couscous is prepared and steamed over a soup or stew made primarily of chicken or lamb with vegetables. Some of the grain purchased in supermarkets is not actually couscous, and is instead a very fine cut pasta referred to as patina. Today 'made from scratch' couscous made from semolina is a more time consuming task.

As you will see in the video demonstration, the couscous is prepared in a double pot process, with the top pot providing the steam for the grain. You don't need to purchase the pot, since it can be done by just lining a colander with cheese cloth.

You would then set it over the soup of a large pot deep enough so that the couscous does not touch the broth and let it steam uncovered until tender. A good recipe will have full instructions and tips for making the perfect couscous.

Israeli Couscous
Israeli couscous, also called pearl couscous, is similar to regular couscous in that it's a small, whole grain-like food made from semolina or wheat flour. Others might know it as "pearl couscous", "Jerusalem couscous", or, as it is known in Israel, "ptitim". Bob's Red Mill labels their product "Natural Pearl Couscous".

To prepare Israeli or pearl couscous, you'll need about 1 1/4 cups of water or vegetable broth for every 1 cup of dry grain. Simmer the grains on your stovetop, covered, for about 10 minutes. The grains fluff up just slightly. Like barley, they have more an "al dente" mouth feel when when done cooking.

Farro is a hearty grain that played a significant part of the daily diet in ancient Rome. Some say farro is the original ancestor of thousands of other wheat species — making it “the mother of all wheat.” In ancient Rome, farro was eaten regularly by the Roman legions, and it was even used as a form of currency. Today this heirloom grain is still highly regarded in Italy, where it has been grown for generations and featured in many traditional dishes.[1]

Farro is commonly used when referring to three ancient wheat
varieties first cultivated in the Fertile Crescent and still grown in
Italy. They are: farro piccolo (einkorn), farro medio (also known as emmer, the Hebrew word for mother), and farro grande (spelt). Grains of wild einkorn have been found in Epi-Paleolithic sites of the Fertile Crescent, and can be found in some health food stores today. Emmer, the most common variety found in Italy, is grown in Tuscany. Spelt is commonly grown in Germany and Switzerland and is eaten and used in much the same way. [2][3]

Farro has a nutty flavor and chewy texture, and resembles barley. It is high in protein and low in calories. It is an excellent form of complex carbohydrates, fiber, protein, vitamin B3, zinc, magnesium, and iron, and it contains antioxidents. Unfortunately, it does contain gluten, but farro easy to digest.
It’s rich in the cyanogenic glucosides, which will stimulate the immune system, regulate blood sugar levels, and lower cholesterol.
[4]

This is how you cook farro.

(YouTube link) Not an endorsement. There are cheaper brands.

If you watch more videos on farro, you'll notice that there are different ways to cook it. Just as with rice, you can cook it with chicken broth or vegetable broth, giving it more flavor. You can also presoak it, or gently toast the grains in oil or butter, then add the liquid to cook. I've also noticed that cooks use different amounts of water to cook the farro in, but I suspect they want a different end result.

Farro is used by a lot of cooks in salads, as you will see in this Farro and Grape Salad recipe.

Freekeh is an ancient grain, and has been enjoyed for centuries in countries such as Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt. Freekeh (pronounced "free-kah") is gaining popularity in American kitchens, and it too has noted health benefits. It has four times the fiber of brown rice, which helps keep blood sugar
low, and it has powerful vision protectors, compared to other grains. It's also known to help increase healthy bacteria in the digestive tract. It compares well to other healthy grains such as quinoa and farro.

Freekeh is made from young wheat, typically durum, that is harvested while still green. It's put through a roasting and rubbing process during production. It has a smoky, nutty flavor and a firm, chewy texture similar to bulgur. This is the way it's produced.

(YouTube link)

If that doesn't scare you away, you'll find Freekeh to be versatile and easy to work with in the kitchen. It cooks in 20 minutes and can easily be substituted for rice. It can be eaten as a cereal, in the form of puddings, in soups, casseroles or even enjoyed as a pilaf/side dish.
Bulgur is a traditional ingredient in European, Middle Eastern, and South Asian cuisine. It is a common ingredient in Armenian, Assyrian, Lebanese, Turkish, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean dishes. The word bulgur is of Turkish origin. It is a good source of fiber, protein, iron and vitamin B-6, and it has a mild, nutty flavor.

Bulgur is made from precooked wheat berries, and takes only about 20 minutes to reconstitute by soaking or by simmering. It’s a great substitute for rice, because it has more fiber and nutrients, and it is considered a low glycemic index food. Low glycemic index foods only produce small fluctuations in blood glucose and insulin levels compared with foods like rice and potatoes.[1] [2] Eating
whole-grain foods, including bulgur, may lower the risk of developing
cardiovascular disease, according to the Harvard School of Public
Health.[3]

It is usually sold ground and you can buy it in many grocery
stores. If you cannot find it in your local supermarket, try a health
food store.
The coarsest grind makes a good substitute for rice.

The
medium grind is more versatile, while...

the finest grind is the type
usually used in tabouleh.

There are two ways to cook bulgur.

Soaking Method - This
works well when preparing bulgur for salads and casseroles. Boil 1 1/2
cups of water in a saucepan. Add 1 cup of bulgur to the water. Cover and
set aside for about 20 minutes or until tender. Drain well.

Cooking Method - This is an approach you could take
when preparing bulgur for cereals or as a side dish. Combine 1 cup of
bulgur and 1 1/2 cups of water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce
the heat, cover and allow to simmer for about 8 to 15 minutes or until
tender. Let stand for about 5 minutes. If there is any liquid remaining,
you can either drain it or allow to simmer uncovered until all the
liquid is absorbed. The longer it cooks and the more water you use (up
to 2 cups), the softer the grain will be. (Perhaps too mushy for some.)

Bulgur's greatest claim to fame is that it is the major component in Tabouleh Salad. There are several ways of making it, but there are key ingredients in most Tabouleh. Watch this YouTuber prepare her version of the salad.
Martha Stewart's Tabouleh Salad

1/2 cup bulgur wheat
2 tomatoes, diced (1 1/2 cups)
3 scallions (both white and green parts), trimmed and thinly sliced (1 cup)
2 to 3 cups chopped fresh curly parsley, stems removed
1 cucumber, peeled and diced (1 cup)
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt, or more to taste

Directions

Rinse the bulgur wheat in cold running water and soak in a bowl of cold water for 20 minutes. Drain and place in a large bowl.

Add the tomatoes, scallions, parsley, cucumber, and mint. Toss together.

Quinoa (pronounced KEEN-wah) is one of the most highly-nutritious and well-balanced foods in the world, which is why native Inca tribes used it in their Pagan ceremonies. It is interesting to note that Spanish Conquistadors (conquers) prohibited all people from consuming quinoa in the New World because they were superstitious about how it was used. Perhaps by consuming it they would be giving approval to foods sacrificed to idols. The Bible gives clear instruction in that area, and this food should not be an issue.

Quinoa contains the perfect balance of complete proteins and amino acids, and it's why this grain has been cherished by native cultures as superfoods. It also has a high quantity of fiber and contains no gluten, so people who are gluten intolerance can safely eat it.
Its flavor resembles brown rice, but its texture is much finer is similar to couscous. With the interest in vegan and vegetarian diets, it has renewed recognition and appreciation here in Western culture.[1][2]

Quinoa has a long shelf life, since saponin protects
the grain from attack by pests or insects. This protection is removed by rinsing it with water before cooking. Some industrial processing plants don't use this protective cover, so it's best to read the package instructions prior to preparing it.

Have you noticed how popular it has gotten to add grains to your diet? This is because grains are part of the Mediterranean diet, which has gained popularity over recent years. Since there is a low consumption of meat and meat products, and the diet includes proportionally high consumption of olive oil, legumes, unrefined cereals, fruits, and vegetables, and fish - it has been determined to be a healthier way to eat. It's quite popular with vegetarians, offering a wide variety of already proven Middle Eastern dishes.

The Mediterranean Diet is not a diet, as in “go on a diet,” even though it's supposed to be a great way to lose weight and improve your health. This way of eating is known to be good for your heart, and that may be directly connected to low meat intake. As we have seen in the food choices in the evolving food pyramid we have, most Americans eat meat every day. As you can see from the food pyramid of the Mediterraneans, it's high in grains - making it quick to digest, which is a good thing.
The videos will demonstrate how to cook the the grain, and cover some recipes. I will mention that these grains aren't ordinarily inexpensive. Even so, we can still be adding them to our diet in small amounts to improve our health.

If I could identify a handful of "lessons learned" while doing research for Fanatic for Jesus blog, this particular one would be right on top.

The majority of false doctrine seen today, plays a significant part in the End Time scenario.

It will take great discernment for believers to decipher a true man of God from a false ones. Since a good deal of today's institutionalized Church is shaped by the teachings of those who have grown huge ministries, written lots of books, and host conferences - they have a great deal of influence on how the Scriptures are taught. These contrived teachings are the Pre-trib rapture, Dominionism, Christian patriotism, the pro-Israel stance, Ecumenism, the Emergent church, the Purpose Driven church (the Hands and Feet of Christ), Church Growth Movement, and contemplative prayer are all parts of a greater plan. Most of these are modern teachings, but a few started in their infancy over 100+ years ago.

'New Move' of the Spirit
There has been talk within the modern Church that there will be one last move of the Holy Spirit prior to the Lord's return. Knowing that this teaching comes from the false teachers of Dispensationalism, this 'new move' of God will have to be planned. I hope that this will become apparent to you as you read on.

In a recent post on Discerning the World blog (not an endorsement), the writer draws your attention to a coming spiritual tsunami that will occur in the Roman Catholic Church. The article she refers to is written by J. Lee Grady from Charisma Magazine, an arm of the Assembly of God. Based upon a dream he had 10 years ago, the Catholic church is going to experience a Holy Spirit revival. Some would think that if this were to happen, it would be a wonderful thing. The pagan halls of religiosity need to be swept clean. But the key to understanding what is occurring here is that this isn't the Holy Spirit moving, rather an unholy spirit. If the baptism of the holy spirit with speaking in tongues has been a false spirit from the start, as many in the Church believe it is, then the coming movement of the spirit will be a sham - since this is also an aspect of the dream. (Read here.) The revival will be more of the false movement we saw come from Todd Bentley and his Lakeland, Florida, ghetto revival.

This possible Roman Catholic revival will create a snowball effect that will cause the barriers of all religions to come tumbling down, since the Vatican will ride the coattails of this wave to remove denominational boundaries. If J. Lee Grady really knows the agenda, as I believe he does, and he is giving us some foresight into what will occur, Christians will accept Catholics as their brother in Christ to create ecumenical unity.

What most Christians today don't realize is that Roman Catholicism, particularly at the Vatican, are already worshiping with those in bondage to false religions. The God of the Bible would never approve of a 'new wave' of the Spirit that had His people worship with pagans, since it would give legitimacy to their false god. The ecumenical/syncretism movement is part of the system of Antichrist. The Bible does mention the one world religion, but it doesn't endorse it.

An event hosted by John Paul II, that brought together religious leaders of the world to pray for peace. They came together on common ground for a common purpose - communitarian buzz words.

The removal of the barrier between the Protestants and Catholics has been in the making since the Reformation. When this so-called coming revival occurs, many Catholics will come dragging their icons of Mary worship, contemplative prayer/mysticism, empty ceremonial prayers, and false doctrines behind them. They want to see us as one big happy family...a brotherhood of man. This is a very New Age/occult/Masonic/Communist/Emergent church/Pagan philosophy in their attempt to create the unity of man. Since the Emergent Church has already been bringing the Evangelical church the pagan/Catholic statues, prayer stations, incense, liturgy, candles, the sacraments, labyrinths, contemplative prayer...it seems logical that Evangelicals will follow suit. Apostates from TBN, such as Paul Crouch, have already begun wearing a clerical collar on the air, openly showing his ecumenical beliefs.

J. Lee Grady's and his slow, misguided indoctrination of the Assembly of God church is
working hand-in-hand with the Enemy's plan, and it will bring about a one world religion that worships the evil one. Only a handful of believers will be able to see it for what it truly is. We may never learn if Grady is a true believer or a false convert.

There's More: The Hands and Feet of Christ
Rick Warren, a change agent, is known to talk about the need for purpose-driven believers to be the Hands and Feet of Christ. The Second Reformation, a plan that will change the face of Christianity into a joint denominational effort in missions, is the motive behind the political effort called common purpose. This collaborative action has a political objective toward Communitarianism - the new system of world government using collectivist values. The goals of the purpose driven church coincide with the mission statement of the United Nations Millennial Goals. Rick Warren is a popular figurehead at the forefront of the counter-Reformation. He was quoted as saying:

"You know, 500 years ago, the first Reformation with Luther and then Calvin, was about beliefs. I think a new reformation is going to be about behavior. The first Reformation was about creeds; I think this one will be about deeds. I think the first one was about what the church believes; I think this one will be about what the church does. The first Reformation actually split Christianity into dozens and then hundreds of different segments. I think this one is actually going to bring them together." He says that there will be messiness as they try to change the institutionalized Church. The reconciliation he speaks of is a dual one. Crowder did not specify it, but he describes a reconciliation with the Catholic church. There is a second aspect of Reformation, and it will follow the video. The Jesuit priest neglects to tell the reader that the Catholic church is jockeying for a position of power and control through this reformation and enlightenment. This New Age/nature worship statement says that he wants to unite the Body of Christ with the practices and beliefs of the pagan Roman Catholic church and the State. He adds that there will be a reconciliation/uniting of Church and State, as we see in the political plan using tactics of Communitarianism. The world will eventually live under the Noahide Laws.

Many of the journal readers I have kept contact with over the years have one thing in common - they no longer attend the institutionalized/corporate Church. They choose to worship and fellowship in their own homes, because they recognize the error and negative influence of the modern church. These families realize the style of church we have today is an invention of the Roman Catholic church, and all other churches are only an extension of it. There may be a few churches out there that aren't influenced by the paganism of the Roman Catholics and American politics, but they are few.

I think the determining factor will be whether any of the list (from above) of false teachings are being taught in your church - the Pre-trib rapture, Dominionism, Christian patriotism, the pro-Israel
stance, Ecumenism, the Emergent church, the Purpose Driven church (Hands and Feet of Christ), Church Growth Movement, and
contemplative prayer. Even if you were to begin on a campaign against the false teaching in your church, it is a long uphill battle.

If you don't feel led to leave yet, begin thinking about what your alternatives will be when the landscape of the church evolves into the unified church. As we shift into the 21st century church-ism, you will need to recognize and understand false teachings and that many of the teachers are false converts. You will begin to see how the undiscerning will faithfully follow the wolves who will speak silky, smooth words about the syncretism of Christianity. Most importantly, question the validity of every move of God against Scripture. In spite of what this all means, we live: "...in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world." Phil. 2:15b
2 Cor. 11:13-15

It amazes me when I see people who claim the name of Christ, yet are able to do abominable acts, and knowingly lead many astray with teaching that coincide with that of the world. I'm sure many of you have felt the same way while reading the Fanatic for Jesus blog. Some so-called Christians work simultaneously as prominent teachers and a CIA agent within the institutionalized Church. Others are like a sign post pointing Christians toward a Socialist/globalist agenda - both instrumental in setting-up the system of Antichrist. There must be something they all have in common. It is possible that some aren't able to see the big picture, while others may do it maliciously? Could it be that some of them are actually false converts?

The institutionalized Church is full of them. Jesus taught us how to recognize them, and He warned us that false converts would be rejected by Him. The Lord knew that some who claim the name of Christ would not realize that they aren't His, making themselves quite deceived. There's more to being a Christian than just our words and deeds. Satan works to deceive the Church by
mingling his children with God’s children, often times making it
difficult for believers to discern the true from the false. They look, act, and sound just like us, but they are counterfeits. They make their outward appearance look good, but their hearts are fixed on the things of this world - making them a candidate to fulfill the institutionalized Church's misguided agenda.

"Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me
with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed
their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the
precept [rules, principles] of men." Isa.29:13 (and Matt. 15:8)

How is it possible that many hear the Gospel, but few receive it? Perhaps it's...

...from their hardness of heart, which makes them unable to properly respond. Matt. 13:14-15 says,"By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For
this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing,
and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with
their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their
heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."

Or from blindness: "In
whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe
not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image
of God, should shine unto them." 2 Cor. 4:4

They may have responded to the Gospel, but it never took root. Without renewing their mind in the Word, prayer, and fellowship with other believers, they'll never escape the stronghold the world has over them. The world's human fish hook is ready to reel them in. 1 John 2:16 says, "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust
of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the
world." The world and what it offers is a constant distraction.

Could it be that the Word does not leave an abiding impression upon them in order to transform their life? Since the Gospel is a message of the heart, a change of heart will cause the born-again believer to please God in all ways. A changed heart helps us to stay on the narrow path, since the Holy Spirit warns us from the path of destruction. The simple message of Christ transforms lives.

Example: David was an adulterer and murderer,
but he modeled a broken and contrite heart (Psa 51:17; Isa. 57:15), repentance, and a heart toward God.

False converts belong to Satan's world. They are unbelievers. They may have heard the Gospel, but their transformation is superficial. They've made a great effort to transform themselves to look like born-again believers. One example of this modern phenomena can be seen in the power of positive thinking - ironically similar to a New Age/occult teaching.

Many seekers in today's institutionalized Church are pursuing Christ for what they can get from Him. They believe that if they transform their life through positive thinking/words, then the Lord will transform their life, and more importantly give them the desires of their heart. This change says more about a selfish recipe for success, and an unwillingness to have someone reign over them. When it comes down to it, the foolish person tries to establish their own righteousness. They should know that:

"For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to
establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto
the righteousness of God." Rom. 10:3

Then there is this verse:

"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." Phil. 2:13

If the message of the Bible had been received with heartfelt belief, God does the work of the heart - not us.

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Eph. 2:10

"Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his
glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to
subdue all things unto himself." Phil. 3:21

Those who have transformed themselves to look and sound like messengers of Light, aren't the real deal. If you get a chance to know a false convert, you'd find no evidence of the Fruits of the Spirit. It is reasonable to say that the purposes of the Enemy work through them. It is possible that entire congregations are false converts - along with entire denominations.

It is the intent of the Enemy to remove Christ from His throne, as to place himself there. Through the workings of their unrepentant hearts, false converts misguide and work toward creating the system of Antichrist. We can see this in the ecumenical movement, which promotes cooperation/common ground
among denominations, and whose goal it is to create universal Christian unity. It can also be seen in the Socialist missions objective to become the hands and feet of Christ; meaning that Christians serve the needs of the world for the "common good" (a phrase found in the NIV, but not the KJV). It could only be a false convert that would encourage such a thing.

In the next post, find out how modern movements couldn't possibly come from those in the faith. If you believe any of these movements are genuine moves of God, you ought to determine if His kingdom is within you.

Can we find equality, socialist concepts, and redistribution of wealth in the Bible? In the verse above, Paul's message describes how the Christian is to share with others what they possess. Then in the Book of Acts, we see that believers that "had all things common", and "No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own." This sounds like socialism to me!

So, should we view what our government does as being biblical? No, because there is a fundamental difference from having the government take what you have and give it to someone else, than if you were to freely give it. No one enjoys being forced to give, and some would consider it as stealing.

In the Book of Acts, the deed of giving was primarily done amongst the brethren. It is a beautiful expression of love. It is true that Christians are urged to give to the poor, support the weak, and "Go in my name and, because you believe, others will know that I live." But good deeds can also enable the person who is receiving the gifts, if the giver continues to give and give and give. It causes the receiver to become dependent upon the giver, and it may delay them from digging their way out of a bad situation. This is true in individual cases as well as Christian mission causes.

The bottom-line is that how much you give, and to whom you give, is your own personal decision. It is a privilege as a Christian to do so. It is not and should never be a mandate set by the government.
Flower gardens are a wonderful diversion, but creating one doesn't have to be complicated or break the budget. Start with a small space, then allow it to grow with time. It can be as simple as you want it.

You don't need to buy expensive edging or brick. Slowly accumulate rocks, used brick, or create a border using a strait, clean edge.

These simple guidelines will help when designing your first garden.

Make a plan. Since there will be somewhat of an investment for you, don't rush into things. If you draw a design plan, and know which type of light will be required to allow your plants to be healthy, you will be more successful. Plan to bring in top soil and compost to build your garden bed.

Mix height and color. Select and plant tall for the back of your garden bed, and shorter ones in the front. Create a variety of colors. If you want butterflies to come to your garden, plant flowers with red, yellow, orange, pink and purple blossoms. [1] If it's hummingbirds, then they like red. [2]

Check the tag. Even if you've done your homework for flower selection, always check the tag on the plant before you purchase it. It
provides information about proper lighting conditions, and how tall the
plant will get. Varieties may vary slightly.

Mix perennials and annuals. The perennials are the low cost way to go, but annuals are beautiful too. You may want to plan for a regular space for several perennials, then have a space for a few annuals. If you plan to intermingle them, draw a plan - so you don't uproot them the following year.

Try seeds. Good soil and keeping the seeds moist during germination is the key to getting them to grow. Seeds have their place in the garden, or you can set them apart in a container.

Feed me. Sometimes water alone doesn't cut it. You'll want to plan to feed your flower bed with an all-purpose fertilizer of your choice. There is organic fertilizer for flowers, if you prefer to go that way.

Be creative. Watch for roadside wild flower blooms (where legally permitted); trade small perennial samplings with your friends and neighbors; look for half price plants; allow blooms to fade and reseed themselves; then take clippings of some plants to regrow.[3] The best time to get perennials is at the end of the season in the half price section of your local garden center.

Mulching. This step helps to make your garden low maintenance. Not only does it help retain moisture, but it keeps weeds down. If using pine or cedar mulch is too expensive, then consider leaf mulch. Price around before investing in mulch for your garden bed. A nursery may be able to offer a better deal.

The last tip is most important. If you live in a climate with heat and humidity, plan to garden in the early morning hours. You'll beat the bugs and the heat - plus it provides you with a productive start for your day. If you need more inspiration for a garden design, be sure to check out the Google image file.

If you were able to pick up the Dominionist overtones in this ministry description, you know that their intentions aren't completely honorable. Christian worldview is an element of Dominionism, and it is tied to the way Christians think about political involvement - and politics has nothing to do with being a Christian.[1] [2] Believers are essentially being used as pawns to support a political viewpoint to gain votes.
would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but

In John 15:19, the Lord tells us that believers are not of the world, implying that there should be separation between the affairs of the world and how the Christian lives in the world system.
Satan's Conspiracy
When I first started the Kindred Spirits Journal nearly 10 years ago, I didn't know a thing about Dominionism, the New Apostolic Reformation, the ecumenical synthesis through Reconstructionism, Communitarianism (the Third Way) through the Emergent/Missional movement, Freemasonry, and all the other evil deceptions that have infiltrated the institutionalized Church. As I did research for my journal articles, I stumbled upon these movements within the Church. Each new discovery about how the Word has been twisted ever so slightly and used for the preparation of the New World Order (and the Antichrist), has been one punch in the gut after another. I began to realize how we've been completely fooled by the face of the institutionalized Church, with its books, seminars, and preachers. They all tote and sell exactly how we are to think, act, feel, and our involvements.

As many of us have tried to warn our loved ones concerning the apostasy in the Church, many have rejected our attempts as foolishness. When our warnings to stay away from the apostates preaching and materials aren't heeded, it subsequently causes them to be sharpened by the iron instrument of the Enemy, leaving them to be none the wiser.

Even though each of us is thankful that the Lord has opened our eyes to the lies, the end result if often the whittling away at our perspective of the power of God. It can go as far as believing that the Lord really isn't in control at all.
But at the same time, we know that the mission of the Enemy is to keep men in ignorance so he can succeed with his plan. Ultimately he spares no
pain to keep men from the truth. Not only concerning the conspiracy, but also the Gospel.

Standing alone in our viewpoints and understanding is a lonely place to be. It can at times seem to be a burden. For His glory, God uses earthen vessels to carry the light of Christ with the message of the Truth. The Bible says:

"But we have this treasure (the Gospel) in earthen vessels (the Christian), that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body." 2 Cor. 4:6-10

Then in verse 17 of the same chapter:

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;"

Having your eyes open to Satan's conspiracy may seem at times to be an affliction. But God has an excellent plan, and He needs His people to be awake. The Church must survive this next step in His plan, and he has appointed us as His messengers.

Living in the countryside has caused me lose perspective of how the rest of the world lives. I'm presently visiting with my family in New York, where I lived until joining the military at the age of 20-years old. In the small town I lived in, which is situated about 45 miles north of New York City, the majority of residents were once entirely white. Since 9/11, it has turned into quite the international community, with people from nearly every race and cultural background. It seems nothing like it once was.

Although times have changed, there is still a tendency to treat the newcomers within this formerly white residential community like second-class citizens. Our country is the product of an utopian-minded social experiment intended to be a melting pot for a purpose, but there is a right and a wrong way to act within the melting pot...especially for a Christian. Since the fruit of the spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control - then it should be reflected through our humility and kindness to all men - not just to believers.

You may think that this sounds strange coming from someone who teaches separation, but we can still be separate and be peaceable, gentle, showing humility to all men. The Word has instructed us to not be yoked to unbelievers, but that's not what I'm talking about. The Word also teaches that we need to be separate from those who teach [Biblical] falsehoods, and I'm not talking about that either. The local population is made up of people who are unbelievers and those who teach falsehoods, but we can still be respectful, and model this respectfulness to our children. How on earth will we be able to win the lost if we snub them? Isn't this more of the undercurrent coming from the world's way of doing things, than it is coming from Christ's way?

If we are truly changed by the blood of Christ, then we need to live outside of the spiritual synthesis that is being created, yet sensitive to the fact that our fellow man is lost. When we remove ourselves from the world's political and social mold and do as Jesus would have us do, suddenly the conflict of the dialectic dissolves. We don't need to contribute to the problem.

You may want to re-think your own racial and cultural integration...the invisible walls that you have unknowingly erected. I'm not trying to help erase injustices in the world, but I am trying to awaken those who are unwilling to see the bigger picture. Just as the song says:

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Christians were meant to be salt and light to the world, not arrogant, disrespectful, and proud. Matthew Henry describes my point best when he wrote:

"It is the misery of sinners, that they hate one another; and it is the
duty and happiness of saints to love one another. And we are delivered
out of our miserable condition, only by the mercy and free grace of God,
the merit and sufferings of Christ, and the working of his Spirit."

Let your life be a demonstration of His love.

"I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore." Psalm 86:12

Amen.

Sometimes it just seems a shame to throw away some of the unique packaging that manufacturers have been creating. Last night I saw a very clever idea that I wanted to pass along. It involves a Nescafé coffee container.

Nestle has chosen to package its instant coffee brand in a curvy plastic container, rather than a glass jar. The top closure is a flip-top lid on hinges, which means it could later be used for food storage when its been emptied.

Once the labeling has been removed, the bottle is semi-transparent. It can easily be refilled with rice, Quinoa, barley, beans, or a grain that isn't easily kept in your pantry. Tape the label on the jar that provides the cooking instructions, and you're good to go. One less container to fill up the landfill.

What you need.

1lb Italian sausage, ground
1 onion, medium-sized, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp olive oil
2 Herb-ox granulated Chicken broth packets made with 2 cups of water
1 extra cup of water
1 15 oz. can Great Northern Beans
1 14 oz. can Great Value Chili-style stewed tomatoes, undrained
1/4 cup spaghetti sauce of your choice
1 cup Rotini pasta, uncooked
1 1/2 cups baby spinach
1/2 cup grated Mozzerella cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Premium Saltine Crackers

How to make it.

Cook sausage, onions and garlic in oil in large saucepan, stirring frequently.

Add next 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Stir in pasta; cook 8 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat.

Stir in spinach; cover. Let stand 5 min. Serve in bowls and top with Mozzarella cheese. Serve with crackers and a green salad.

Prep Time: 10 min.
Total Time: 40 min.
10 servings @ 1 cup each

This was a delicious soup. I found it on the side of the Premium Saltine Crackers package. The picture above doesn't do it justice. The recipe above was modified by using Herb-ox chicken broth, and spaghetti sauce. The only reason why I added the spaghetti sauce was because I didn't have a second can of stewed tomatoes for the double recipe. It made the broth thicker and richer.

I doubled the recipe above and it provided hearty servings for 7 adults. We all loved it.

My mother-in-law made her own sauerkraut and it was absolutely delicious. Making sauerkraut is something you don't see anymore, and it's not that hard to do.

In the following video, the Extension Office out of the University of Alaska show you how to properly make sauerkraut. It takes into consideration the food safety factor, and it's very thorough.

Instructions are provided for making a huge batch and for making quart-sized batches. You should watch both, especially if you plan to make smaller batches. The small batch method begins at 21:22 on the counter.
(YouTube link)

Some recipes recommend adding caraway seeds and other ingredients, so you'll want to consider these as well. Good luck!
